If I remove the drawString line and replace it with drawing a rectangle, nothing crashes. Now, when I get too much scaling, that is when the scale variable is around a 100, the program crashes. How I fetch this var is not important, but if I zoom in with the mousewheel the variable increases. It crashes java completely (it's not a programming error per se, since I even get a java error log saved to the computer). I have a dilema with painting performance I am not sure how to solve.
